Christmas shopping! I set aside a budget last summer in anticipation and managed to spend it all. These photos represent the extremes of the holiday shopping experience. At Target, it looks like a hurricane passed through – woe to those still shopping a week before Christmas! At the other extreme, earlier in the week I dropped into Denver’s Hermes store where I was the only (and clearly underqualified) customer. After being treated to sparkling water, bonbons, and a lesson on scarf print restoration, I left informed and refreshed – but without a scarf ($1000), and most definitely without a Birkin bag.
