Povitica is a delicate, crazy-complicated pastry from Eastern Europe. That makes it the perfect challenge for my nephew Ryley, a college senior who is also the family chef. He spent the better part of a morning creating his second annual povitica for Christmas brunch. The process requires precise mixing and rolling (and somewhere in the middle, it looks vaguely disturbing) but the final product is a work of art!
